• Romance scams: Fraudsters create fake online personas, sometimes of famous celebrities, to begin romantic relationships and extract money or personal information. Remember, Keanu Reeves and Shania Twain don’t want to be in a relationship with you.
  • Impersonation scams: A scammer pretends to be an individual, company or agency, like your grandchild, your bank or the IRS. Always verify who is contacting you. If something doesn't seem right, it probably isn't.
  • Tech support scams: Computer issues are frustrating enough. These scammers impersonate IT professionals in order to take over your computer.
  • Lottery or sweepstakes scams: No one will ever give you free money or a free iPad, ever. If it seems too good to be true, it is.

Discuss: Which of these scams seems most concerning to you? Why?
